JoSAA 2020 Counselling consists of 6 steps – Registration, Choice Filling, Seat Allotment, Payment of Seat Allotment Fees , Document Verification at the Reporting Centre and Reporting at the Allotted centres.JoSAA 2020 Counselling consists of 6 steps – Registration, Choice Filling, Seat Allotment, Payment of Seat Allotment Fees , Document Verification at the Reporting Centre and Reporting at the Allotted centres.And the whole Counselling Process shall be conducted in 7 Rounds.

After the Mock Allotment Round, candidates will be allotted colleges and branches on the basis of their rank, category, preferences and seat availability.

- The candidates who were earlier unable to register themselves for the JoSAA 2020, will have an opportunity to go through the JoSAA 2020 Spot Counselling.
- Also the candidates who are not allotted seats in any of 7 Rounds of JoSAA 2020 Counselling are also eligible to participate in the Spot Round
- Spot Round Counselling is conducted if the seats remain vacant after the completion of all rounds of counselling for IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.
- The list of availability of the seats for the spot round will be displayed after the final or 7th round of counselling.

Withdraw Option
Withdraw Option
- Withdraw option is available only for those candidates who have accepted seat during JoSAA 2020 Counselling
- In order to exercise this option, candidates are required to report at one of the Reporting Centres before the final or 7th Round.
- After choosing the withdraw option, the candidate will not be permitted to participate in further admission rounds.
- The Seat Acceptance Fees shall be returned after deducting Rs. 1500/-.

- Step A : At first candidates will have to fill their bank details against which the Seat Acceptance Fees is to refund in the official website of JoSAA . Also & upload an image of cancelled cheque (same account) in jpg format and download the withdrawal request letter.
- Step B : The withdraw letter should be duly signed by both the candidate and his/ her parents.Then the candidate have to report at the Reporting Centre to vacate the seat.
- Candidates who have completed Step A but not Step B, that is, not reported at a reporting centre, will not be treated as exercising withdraw option. The seats accepted by such candidates will not be released and will continue in their names.

This counselling is conducted by Central Seat Allotment Board (CSAB).
