What is JEE Mains?

Joint Entrance Examination – Main (JEE-Main) is an examination organised by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in India for students who are looking forward to admission in various undergraduate engineering and architecture courses in institutes accepting the JEE-Main result. For all students who wish to become engineering aspirants and want to enroll in courses like B.Tech, B.E,
B.Arch, B.Plan,
etc., NTA has released the notification for JEE Mains 2021 exam, along with the
commencement of the application process. JEE, Joint Entrance Examination is a competitive
examination organized by the National Testing Agency i.e. NTA. JEE Mains is conducted every year to as
an entrance examination for engineering courses across the country, twice a year. The first exam is

Before applying for the JEE Mains 2021 exam, the candidates must check their eligibility for the same. To

  • Candidate can apply for one session or more than one Session (February/March /April /May 2021) together and pay exam fee accordingly.
  • If a candidate wishes to apply only for one Session, he / she has to pay Examination Fee only for that Session during the current application period and will have opportunity to apply again for the remaining March/ April / May Sessions
  • Incase a candidate does not want to appear in the Session for which fee has already been paid, it will be refunded by NTA
  • Candidates who apply for more than one Session of examination (February/March/April/May), may change their Choice of Cities in the correction window, which will be opened in due course under intimation to them through Public Notice for each Session.
  • The application window will be re-opened briefly immediately after the declaration of the result of February / March/ April Session.
  • Candidate can apply for one session or more than one Session (February/March /April /May 2021) together and pay exam fee accordingly.

  • Only candidates who have passed Class 12th in the year 2019, 2020 or appearing in 2021 can appear for this exam.
  • Physics and Mathematics should be the compulsory subject in class 12th for admission in B.E. & B.Tech. courses along with one of the Technical Vocational Subject Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology.
  • Mathematics should be the compulsory subject in class 12th for admission in B. Arch, B. Plan course.
  • Candidate must have passed class 12th with five subjects.
  • Only candidates who have passed Class 12th in the year 2019, 2020 or appearing in 2021 can appear for this exam.

  • Those candidates who wish to appear for B.Arch as well as B.Planning, will have the duration of examination 3.30 hrs. i.e. from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Candidates are advised to report at the Examination Center well in time i.e. 2 hours before commencement of the examination.
  • The candidate must carry of JEE Main 2020 Admit Card along with other required documents to the exam centre. A candidate who fails to do so will not be permitted for the examination under any circumstances.
  • Authorised photo IDs (must be original, valid and non-expired) will be required. You can carry your Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card )
  • Candidates are advised to bring personal hand sanitizer (50 ml), one transparent bottle of water and a transparent ball point pen.
  • Candidates are not allowed to remove any pages from the JEE Main test booklet.
  • Diabetic Candidates : are allowed to carry eatables like sugar tablets/fruits and transparent water bottle. However, they are not allowed to carry any packed food items.

JEE Mains 2021 Application Form

The application form for JEE Mains 2021 is now available on the official website from 16 December
2020.
Candidates who are currently joining the application process for JEE will have to appear for the
exam on 22-25 February 2021. The candidates have to apply online to appear for the examination. Along
with the online application form, the candidates will also have to upload their photos and scan a copy of
their signature. Candidates applying must also submit an application fee. Payment of application fees
will also have to be done through the online mode. When applying, the candidates must keep in mind
that there should not be any mistakes in the application form. Incorrectly filled application forms will

Through JoSAA 2021 Counselling :

  • Registration : Visit the official website of JoSAA and login using JEE Main 2021 Application Number, Password and Security Pin. Then, students are required to fill the required details on the JoSAA Counselling form.
  • Choice Filling & Locking : Candidates can fill the maximum choices as per their preference for seat allocation. Candidates must lock their choices, before the last date. Students can lock their choices after each round of JEE Main Counselling 2020.
  • Seat Allotment :Candidates will be allotted seats on the basis of their choices, availability of seats, All India Rank (AIR) in JEE Main 2021 Rank Lists andCandidate’s category (General, OBC-NCL, ST, etc.).
  • Payment of Fees and Seat Acceptance :The seat acceptance fee is INR 35,000 for all the candidates and INR 15,000 for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ SC-PwD/ ST-PwD/ GEN-PwD/ OBC-NCL-PwD category. The fees can be paid online through SBI Net Banking/ e-Challan.Candidates will have the following options:
