- Kharkiv National Medical University was established in 1805 as one of the pivotal universities that laid the groundwork for medical education in Ukraine. Kharkiv National Medical University was previously known as Kharkiv Medical Institute and Kharkiv State Medical University.

- There are 65 Departments at Kharkiv National Medical University, with a staff of 800 specialists in sciences and pedagogy, including 120 Doctors of Medical Science, Professors, and 446 Candidates of Medical Science, Associate Professors.
- KNMU also conducts the student’s exchange program once in a year for diverse learning orientation of the students with other ukrainian universities. KNMU has less tuition fees and high educational quality when compared to other European universities.
- Over 7000 students, interns, masters, clinical postgraduates, postgraduates, and doctorate candidates are trained at Kharkiv National Medical University, with over 2000 of them being foreign citizens.

- If the student is in the General category, he or she must have a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, as well as English as a compulsory subject.
- From 2019 it is mandatory to pass the NEET exam in order to study in any country abroad .
- Students must have finished a regular board or university's 10th +2 or equivalent.
- If the student is from the SC/OBC/ST Category, they must earn at least 40% in Physics, Biology, and Chemistry in their 12th grade, and English must be a compulsory subject.
- In India, there are no entrance exams such as IELTS or SAT. NEET certification is required.
- The student must be at least 17 years old on December 31st of the year in which admission is sought.
