- I.H.Ternopil National Medical University(TNMU) was established on April 12, 1957 in the city of Ternopil.The institute was named after Ivan Horbachevsky on July 1, 1992, to honour his contributions to medicine, particularly biochemistry.
- The institute was granted the status of State Medical Academy on December 30, 1997, and was given the name I. Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical Academy.
- Also, the institution was honoured as State Medical University on November 17, 2004, and Popularly known as I.H.Ternopil State Medical University.

- There are 205 rooms available in Hostel, with a total capacity of 500 people. There are three living wings on each floor of the dormitory. Each wing has three suites, a common room, a kitchen with basic equipment, and a utility room.
- There are numerous libraries where you may expand your knowledge and improve your communication skills. For international students, one of them offers a modest computer lab and a study hall. A health clinic for all university students is also located on the ground floor.

Students must be between the ages of 17 and 25 on or before December 31st of the year of admission.
From 2019 it is mandatory to pass the NEET exam in order to study in any country abroad .
Students must have finished a regular board or university's 10^th +2 or equivalent.
If the students are from General Category, they must have received a minimum of 50% in Physics, Biology, and Chemistry in their 12th grade, as well as English as a compulsory subject.
In India, there are no entrance exams such as IELTS or SAT. NEET certification is required.
