Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH), despite established in 2008, the college has achieved 8th
rank in India for Engineering as per the NIRF 2020 rankings. IIT Hyderabad is way better in terms of
placements. In the first phase of IIT Hyderabad 2019-20 placements, students were able to receive the highest
salary package up to INR 60.41 LPA whereas the average salary package remained at INR 22 LPA. The top-

IIT Hyderabad offers B.Tech and M.Tech degrees in ten disciplines of Engineering, B. Des and M. Des degree
in Design, MSc degrees in science, and M. Phil degree in liberal arts. In 2019, the institute started offering M.
A. in Development Studies. The institute also offers Ph.D. across all disciplines of engineering, sciences, and
liberal arts. At the institute, every semester, undergraduate students have the option to take courses in liberal
arts and creative arts such as macroeconomics, introductory psychology, introduction to the Japanese, French,
or German language, introduction to Carnatic or western classical music, theater, pottery, and ceramics, and
Madhubani painting. It uses a Fractal Academic System, involving a continuous evaluation of students, and

Admission to BTech programs is through the Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced for 285 seats. Among all

participation of 222 students who got placed within the first phase of the placement drive itself. The students
received 30 international offers from 63 companies. The students had already bagged 46 pre-placement offers
