Postponement of NEET, JEE and other exams due to the pandemic has been an issue of debate from a long time. On August 17, 2020 SC dismissed the pleas regarding postponement of these exams. This resulted in a heated debate and online protests, following which, over 4000 students went on a day-long hunger strike on August 23, 2020.

Students took to Twitter to express their grievances and used the #SATYAGRAH_AgainstExamsInCovid. Along with postponement of NEET, JEE and other entrance exams, students also demanded cancellation of CBSE compartment exams this year.
