- The Lugansk State Medical University (LSMU) was established in 1956. Voroshilovgrad State Medical University was its previous name. More than 170 medical specialisations, 400 medical personnel, 60 scientists, and 270 applicants are active in research and development initiatives at the institute.
- Nearly 3,000 students attend the university, including international students from more than 60 nations. There are 22 clinical and 18 theoretical departments at the university. Lugansk State Medical University is ranked third among Ukraine’s leading medical university. - The institution has three academic buildings that house scientific research laboratories, a well equipped dentistry clinic, a family medicine centre, and pharmacy labs, among other things. The University has 5 hostels with a total area of 28431 sq.m., which can accommodate 2220 students.
- Various video conferences and webinars are held in the classrooms at Lugansk State Medical University, which are equipped with advanced multimedia equipment. The Lugansk State Medical University has five industry research laboratories where students receive clinical training in the city’s medical institutions and hospitals. Lugansk State Medical University’s graduates are awarded a worldwide recognised degree. On the university campus, students are exposed to a multicultural environment.

- From 2019 it is mandatory to pass the NEET exam in order to study in any country abroad .
- Students must have finished a regular board or university's 10th +2 or equivalent.
- If the student is from the SC/OBC/ST Category, they must earn at least 40% in Physics, Biology, and Chemistry in their 12th grade, and English must be a compulsory subject.
- In India, there are no entrance exams such as IELTS or SAT. NEET certification is required.
- The student must be at least 17 years old on December 31st of the year in which admission is sought.
