Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal announced that the JEE Main 2020 will now be held in September. The JEE Main entrance exam will be held from 1^st to 6^th September 2020.
MHRD have announced new schedule for JEE Mains 2020 Exam for July session. According to that new schedule JEE Mains 2020 Exam will be conducted on 18^th and 23^rd July, 2020.
Application form Correction has been extended till 3^rd May, 2020.

Application form Correction has been re-started from April 1^st, 2020 up to April 14^th, 2020.Candidates must remember that Application correction is a one-time process. They could correct mistakes in the application form during the prescribed period and keeping in mind the obstacles caused by COVID-19 they can also change the exam city centre.
Due to the sudden outbreak of COVID-19, JEE Mains 2020 Exams which was earlier scheduled to be held on 5^th, 7^th, 9^th and 11^th April 2020 has been temporarily postponed. We will update you the new Exam date as soon as it is announced.

NTA has released the JEE Main 2020 eligibility criteria for B.Tech, B.E, B.Arch and B Plan papers. Following are the eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2020 –

1) Age Limit :

There is no age limit for appearing in JEE Mains Exam.

2) Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination (QE)-

Candidates who have passed their Class 12 examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2018 or 2019 are eligible.
Those who are appearing in their Class 12 examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2020 are also eligible to appear in January and April session.
Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2017 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2021 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main)–2020.

Candidates who have passed their Class 12 examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2018 or 2019 are eligible.
Those who are appearing in their Class 12 examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2020 are also eligible to appear in January and April session.
Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2017 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2021 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main)–2020.

3) Qualifying Subjects:

Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12th /qualifying examination to be eligible.

4) Qualifying Marks:

To appear in JEE Mains, the minimum qualifying marks (for admission to NITs, IIITs, IITs, and CFTIs) that aspirants require is 75 per cent or
Candidates should be in the top 20 percentile in the Class 12 exam conducted by respective Boards.
For reserved candidates, the minimum qualifying marks is 65 per cent.

To appear in JEE Mains, the minimum qualifying marks (for admission to NITs, IIITs, IITs, and CFTIs) that aspirants require is 75 per cent or
Candidates should be in the top 20 percentile in the Class 12 exam conducted by respective Boards.
For reserved candidates, the minimum qualifying marks is 65 per cent.

For admission to a participating institute, please see the reservations applicable in that particular institute. In case of institutes run by the Central Government then :

10% seats will be reserved for the Category General- Economically Weaker Section (GEN-EWS),
15% seats will be reserved for the Category of Scheduled Caste (SCs),
7.5% seats will be reserved for the Category of Scheduled Tribes (STs),
27% seats will be reserved for the Category of Other Backward Classes belonging to the "Non- Creamy Layer" (OBC-NCL),
Each Category will have 5% reservations for Persons with Disabilities (Pwd)

10% seats will be reserved for the Category General- Economically Weaker Section (GEN-EWS),
15% seats will be reserved for the Category of Scheduled Caste (SCs),
7.5% seats will be reserved for the Category of Scheduled Tribes (STs),
27% seats will be reserved for the Category of Other Backward Classes belonging to the "Non- Creamy Layer" (OBC-NCL),
Each Category will have 5% reservations for Persons with Disabilities (Pwd)

State Code of Eligibility:

State code of eligibility means the state from where the candidate has passed Class 12^th Examination.
It is important to note that the State code of eligibility does NOT depend upon the native place or the place of residence of the candidate. It depends only from where the candidate have passed Class 12^th Examination. If a candidate has passed Class XII (or equivalent) qualifying examination from one State but appeared for improvement from another State, the candidate’s State code of eligibility will be from where the candidate first passed the Class XII (or equivalent) examination and NOT the State from where the candidate has appeared for improvement.

Candidate passed/appearing class 12th from NIOS should select the State of Eligibility according to the State in which the study centre is located.
For Indian nationals passing the Class XII (or equivalent) examination from Nepal/Bhutan, the State code of eligibility will be determined on the basis of permanent address in India as given in the passport of the candidate.
The State code of eligibility of OCI/PIO passing Class XII (or equivalent) examination in India is at par with Indian nationals. However, OCI/PIO passing the Class XII (or equivalent) examination from an institution abroad are eligible for Other State quota seats or All India quota seats (but NOT for Home State quota seats) in all NITs, IIEST and Other-CFTIs .

Number of Attempts a Candidate have

A candidate have only three attempts for appearing in JEE Main. We are well aware of the fact that JEE Mains is conducted twice in a year i.e., January session & April session. Now, many candidates get confused whether each session is counted as an attempt. The answer to this question is no.
If a candidate has already appeared for JEE Mains 2020 January Session and plans to appear in the April session of JEE Mains 2020 then both of them shall be counted as single attempt. In other words, January and April sessions of JEE Mains of a particular year are counted as a single attempt.
