Indian Institute of Technology, Indore (IIT Indore), is an autonomous public technical and research institute
situated in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. IIT Indore was established in 2009, among the eight young Indian
Institutes of Technology (IITs). IIT Indore is authoritatively perceived as an Institute of National Importance by

Admissions

Admissions

Admission to the B.Tech programs is through the Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced [JEE(Adv)], and
students are admitted after completing 10+2 schooling. Admission to the M.Tech/Ph.D programs is through
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) – for M.Tech/M.S./Ph.D and Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.

Indore leads all the new IITs in terms of total citations as well as h-index. Abstracting and indexing database
Scopus has rated IIT Indore as the top among the IITs, followed by seven IITs of Ropar, Patna, Bhubaneswar,

  • 2. For students of B.Tech program from the 2016 batch onwards.
  • The students (whose family income is less than Rs. 1 lakh per annum) shall get full remission
    (i.e. Rs.1,00,000/-) of the tuition fee after admission against submission of documentary
    evidence.
  • The students (whose family income is between Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh per annum) shall get
    remission of 2/3rd of the tuition fee (i.e. Rs.66,667/-) after admission against the production of
    documentary evidence
  • For this purpose, either Income Tax Return filed (FY 2018-19 or 2019-20) by parents or a Valid
    Income Certificate for total parental income (FY 2019-20) issued by local district authorities like
    SDO, BDO, MRO, Tahasildar, Anchal Officer, Chairman/ Executive Officer of Municipal
    corporation, etc. will be acceptable.

Fee refund policy:- If a student accepts the admission offer but does not report on the day of registration, Rs.1,000/- will be deducted as a processing fee and the remaining amount will be refunded.
If a student withdraws from an academic program after joining and completing registration in the
academic program, only Security Deposits paid by the student in his/her academic program will
be refunded.

Permanent campus of IIT Indore is located at Simrol located on Indore-Khandwa state highway. The campus is

Construction of phase 1A is on the verge of completion which includes 12.50 km long Boundary wall, Entry
gates, Central Workshop, School building, Hall of Residence (hostel), Studio apartment, Academic POD
buildings, Sophisticated Instrumentation Centre (SIC), STP, WTP, Computer Centre (Hub building), Cafeteria,
Main Receiving Station, HVAC plant, Director’s office-cum-residence. Whereas, construction of state-of-art four
more Halls of Residence (hostel), Health Centre, Library, Sports Complex, Administrative Building, Dining Hall

IIT Indore has always strived for building a strong mutual association with the recruiters and hence creating
better opportunities for the students in placements and internships. It has been reflecting in our results, as IIT
Indore has achieved more than 90% placements in recent years’ placement sessions. The average salary
package in last few years has been approx. Rs. 15 lakhs per annum and highest package received is Rs. 17.2
millions._ Many of these companies offered better internship/project work opportunities to our students along
with full time offers. The highest stipend received is 1.50 lakhs per month. Generally, 5-10% students have
been going for higher studies to top ranked foreign universities, IIMs, IITs whereas 3-5% students start their
