  • About the Institute
  • IIIT- Delhi is research-oriented state university located in Delhi, India. It focuses on Computer Science and allied areas. The permanent campus of IIIT- Delhi was inaugurated by Sheila Dikshit, former Chief Minister of Delhi, in October 2012. The General Council is the body that oversees the institute. The Chancellor of the Institute is the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, who also chairs the General Council of the Institute. The Board of Governors consists of the Director, the Chairman, four experts, two government nominees and two professors.
  • The University partnered with Infosys in 2016 to establish the ‘Infosys Centre for AI’.

  • Ranking
  • National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited the university an ‘A’ grade and it has also been accorded 12-B status by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The land and infrastructure of IIIT-D is funded by the Government of Delhi.
  • National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked IIIT-Delhi 55 among engineering institutes in India in 2019.
  • QS World University Rankings ranked IIIT-Delhi 192 among universities in the BRICS nations in 2019, internationally.

  

  • Campus
  • The campus consists of an academic complex, a library, information centre, a dining, recreation centre, and hostels. The Academic Block has a total of 10 lecture halls, administrative office, finance department, the Director’s Office, conference rooms, a board room, a formal seating and discussion area and faculty offices. The campus also has a music room and a gymnasium. IIIT-D has cutting edge infrastructure with modern tech equipment.

  

  • Scholarships
  • IIIT Delhi provides scholarships under various criteria.
  • When parents are in the Below Poverty Line Category, student is given 100% fee waiver
  • When the Gross Income of parents in service is up to 6.0 LPA and the fee paid for last school is less than 0.25 LPA, student is given 50% fee waiver
  • When the Gross Income of parents in service is between 6.0 LPA and 8.0 LPA and the fee paid for last school is less than Rs.0.45 LPA, student is given 25% waiver
  • NOTE : A Delhi student with JEE rank less than 2000 will be given a scholarship of Rs 1.25 LPA for the entire duration of their B.Tech at IIIT-Delhi, provided they maintain a CGPA of 8.5 or above and such a student is not eligible for the income-linked fee waiver scheme.
