  • About the Institute
  • DTU was formerly known as the Delhi College of Engineering (DCE). It is a public university located in New Delhi, India.
  • DTU is the parent college of many prestigious national institutes including Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi (SPAD), Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSUT).
  • Established as Delhi Polytechnic in 1941, it is Delhi’s first engineering college. It was affiliated with the University of Delhi (DU) from 1952 to 2009. In 2009, the college was given state university status under the Delhi Technological University Bill, 2009, thus changing its name to Delhi Technological University.

  • Among engineering colleges, DTU was ranked 2nd by Times Engineering Rankings in 2019 and 7th among government colleges by India Today in 2018 and 2019. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked it 34th in the engineering ranking of 2019, 47 among universities and 71 overall.

 

  • Campus
  • Facilities include a library, a computer centre, a sports complex, eight boys’ hostels, six girls’ hostels, and a married couples’ hostel. The campus also has residential facilities for faculty and staff. It has excellent infrastructure and well-structured space. DTU has a huge library and Wi-Fi is available in the whole campus. There are play grounds for sports like basketball and cricket. Gym facility is also available for the students.

  • B.Tech : Admission towards a Bachelor of Technology degree in DTU is done through the Joint Admission Counselling Delhi (JAC-Delhi)
  • B.Des : Admission for BDes seats is done through UCEED exam

  • B.Tech : Admission towards a Bachelor of Technology degree in DTU is done through the Joint Admission Counselling Delhi (JAC-Delhi)
  • B.Des : Admission for BDes seats is done through UCEED exam
  • M.Tech : Admission towards MTech degree are done on the basis of GATE scores.
  • MBA : MBA aspirants are required to qualify CAT cut off list
  • BA (Hons.) & BBA : Merit-based admission are done for BA(H) Economics and BBA.
