Directorate of Medical Education – is responsible for conducting the MBBS and BDS admission
process for government and private medical colleges across the state of Assam. The online
application form for admission to MBBS and BDS seats can be seen on the DME Assam

Assam MBBS/ BDS Eligibility Criteria 2020

  • Nationality and domicile rules: Applicants must be citizens of India and must be permanent residents of Assam, meaning that candidates must have completed Class 10 and Class 12 from the Assam Board.
  • Lower and upper age limit: The lower age limit of admission seekers should not be less than 17 years till December 31, 2020. The upper age limit of the applicants should not be more than 25 years till 05 May 2020.
  • Educational Requirement : Candidate must have passed class 12 with Biology, Physics, and Chemistry as main subjects. Also, candidates must have a valid NEET-UG 2020 score.
  • Qualifying Marks : Candidates belonging to unreserved class must have 60% marks in class 12 while reserved category candidates must have 50% marks in class 12. Candidates should score the minimum qualification score or percentile in NEET-UG 2020

  • While participating in counseling, candidates have to submit all the above-mentioned documents to the concerned authority.
  • Assam MBBS 2020 counseling process will be in the office of Director of Medical Education, Sixmile, Khanapara – Guwahati.
  • Candidates will be called according to their NEET-UG 2020 rank and category. During the counseling process, officers will complete the certificate verification process. The seat allocation process will be done by the DMER officials based on the preferences filled by the candidates in the application form.
