NEET 2020 or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test 2020 is an entrance examination for students in India who want to study undergraduate medical courses or MBBS and dental courses for public or private colleges. The NEET was held on the 13th of September 2020 (The NEET Admit Cards were released on 23rd of August). It was originally going to be held on the 3rd of May but constant pleas for postponement and the increase in COVID-19 positive cases forced the officials and authorities to delay it. Some groups of students and parents demanded further postponement of NEET 2020 but leaders stated that the future of students could no longer wait and with proper precaution, they would be able to limit the spread of the deadly COVID-19 infections. Some students did get infected before the examination and were given a chance to undergo a special exam which was held on 14th of October 2020.

Because of the excessive outbreak of COVID-19 in most regions of India, multiple health precautions had to be implemented, including constant sanitizations of examination centres before, after and even during the exam. Social distancing and mandatory wearing of protective gear consisting of face masks and gloves was implemented. Staggered slotting was utilized to reduce crowds of people. Guards and staff were allotted the task of testing temperatures of participants and staff to see if anyone had a fever or showed any related symptoms. Those who had signs of fever were asked go to an isolation room and were even prevented from taking the exam. Dress codes were also observed primarily to prevent cheating and to keep malpractices in check . The usual exam practices were carried out and the test began at 2:00 pm and ended at 5:00 pm all across the country.
