  • Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal announced that the JEE Main 2020 will now be held in September. The JEE Main entrance exam will be held from 1st to 6th September 2020.
  • MHRD have announced new schedule for JEE Mains 2020 Exam for July session. According to that new schedule JEE Mains 2020 Exam will be conducted on 18th and 23rd July, 2020.
  • Application form Correction has been extended till 3rd May, 2020.

NTA has released the JEE Main 2020 eligibility criteria for B.Tech, B.E, B.Arch and B Plan papers. Following are the eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2020 –NTA has released the JEE Main 2020 eligibility criteria for B.Tech, B.E, B.Arch and B Plan papers. Following are the eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2020 –

  • Candidates who have passed their Class 12 examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2018 or 2019 are eligible.
  • Those who are appearing in their Class 12 examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2020 are also eligible to appear in January and April session.
  • Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2017 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2021 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main)–2020.
  • Candidates who have passed their Class 12 examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2018 or 2019 are eligible.
  • Those who are appearing in their Class 12 examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2020 are also eligible to appear in January and April session.
  • Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2017 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2021 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main)–2020.

State Code of Eligibility:

State code of eligibility means the state from where the candidate has passed Class 12th Examination.
It is important to note that the State code of eligibility does NOT depend upon the native place or the place of residence of the candidate. It depends only from where the candidate have passed Class 12th Examination.
If a candidate has passed Class XII (or equivalent) qualifying examination from one State but appeared for improvement from another State, the candidate’s State code of eligibility will be from where the candidate first passed the Class XII (or equivalent) examination and NOT the State from where the candidate has appeared for improvement.State code of eligibility means the state from where the candidate has passed Class 12th Examination.
It is important to note that the State code of eligibility does NOT depend upon the native place or the place of residence of the candidate. It depends only from where the candidate have passed Class 12th Examination.

A candidate have only three attempts for appearing in JEE Main.
We are well aware of the fact that JEE Mains is conducted twice in a year i.e., January session & April session.
Now, many candidates get confused whether each session is counted as an attempt. The answer to this question is no.
If a candidate has already appeared for JEE Mains 2020 January Session and plans to appear in the April session of JEE Mains 2020 then both of them shall be counted as single attempt. In other words, January and April sessions of JEE Mains of a particular year are counted as a single attempt.
A candidate have only three attempts for appearing in JEE Main.
