The duration of the course is 5 ½ years, including mandatory rotational internship of 1 year. The syllabus of MBBS includes subjects such as biochemistry, physiology, anatomy, microbiology, pathology, pharmacology and surgery. Students holding MBBS degree can get themselves enrolled with the Medical Council of India (MCI) and start practicing as doctors. They can also pursue MD/MS (Doctor of Medicine/Master of Surgery) for further study, research and specialization. They can also work in government departments.
